Data policy & our sources-first approach

MOTONETA is a database of which songs have sampled Japanese records — every entry cited.

Sources first

• Every relation requires at least one source URL; entries without one fail the build.
• Primary sources (artist interviews, liner notes, official socials) are marked confirmed; secondary-only claims are reported.

What we don't do

• We do not accept data sourced from WhoSampled (terms & database-rights risk). No scraping, transcription, or AI extraction from it.
• Audio embeds are limited to official YouTube channels / "Official Topic" uploads. No links to unofficial uploads.
• We do not self-host cover art.
